The General Data Protection Regulation, known as GDPR, which gives citizens of the European Union (EU) more rights to control their personal information, came into force a few months ago, May 2018.
Euroteide Insurance has access to many different forms and sources of personal data, ranging from information that can be provided within an insurance claim, third-party provider contracts, and information from our own employees.
In the run up to GDPR we have been reviewing all of our data processes and contracts to identify the legal basis for having personal information and all the Insurance Companies of which we are Mediators have issued privacy notices. We have reviewed our contractual agreements with suppliers and other third parties, and these are being updated as necessary.
Europe and in turn Spain is now covered by the highest data protection rules in the world. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), mutually agreed, entered into force on May 25, 2018 and was designed to modernize laws that protect people's personal information.
